Regardless of how critical the decision might be, in the face of information and choice overload, many managers find it hard to even entertain the idea that they might be In 1956, Professor George Miller of Princeton University published research showing that humans can process only a limited amount of information at a given point in time. This 90 min. workshop on Decision-making in the Age of Big Data (ABD) provides an insight into the Perils and Pitfalls we face when making decisions in the age of big-data. Decisions pertaining to recruiting, site selection, bid evaluation, procurement, etc., are driven by multiple criteria. Selection of relevant criteria, and determining their relative significance, is a challenge.
After this workshop participants will be able to: • Recognize human irrationality and illusions that creep into decision making, and put multidimensional, real-world problems into proper perspective. |
