 Even trained professionals make lousy decisions.
 Regardless of how
 critical the decision might be\, in the&nbsp\;face of information and choi
 ce overload\, many managers&nbsp\;find it hard to even entertain the idea
 that they might bemaking sub-optimal decisions.
 In 1956\, Professor Geor
 ge Miller of Princeton University&nbsp\;published research showing that hu
 mans can process only&nbsp\;a limited amount of information at a given poi
 nt in time.Today—when we are constantly bombarded with&nbsp\;information
 —this becomes even more of a problem.
 This 90 min. workshop on Decisio
 n-making in the Age of Big Data (ABD)&nbsp\;provides an insight into the P
 erils and Pitfalls we face&nbsp\;when making decisions in the age of big-d
 ata.Attendees will learn about decision-contamination\, and&nbsp\;decision
 -manipulation\, and how to remedy this situation.&nbsp\;
 Decisions perta
 ining to recruiting\, site selection\, bid&nbsp\;evaluation\, procurement\
 , etc.\, are driven by multiple&nbsp\;criteria. Selection of relevant crit
 eria\, and determining their&nbsp\;relative significance\, is a challenge.
